Alappuzha: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has defended the bodyguards of the Youth Congress-KSU workers who raised slogans against the Navakerala Yatra. The Chief Minister clarified that the bodyguards are those who are there to prevent anything from happening to me.
“Yesterday there was a situation where some people jumped in front of our vehicle while it was moving. It was already ruled out. Then reappeared. At one place yesterday, some people were seen trying to jump in front of such a vehicle.
They were also seen being stopped by the police. That’s what caught my attention. I saw uniformed policemen stopping me. “The bodyguards with me are the ones who are part of ensuring that nothing happens to me,” said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also reacted to the fact that a newspaper photographer was pushed by the neck by the Chief Minister’s bodyguard in Idukki. “My bodyguards are the ones who make sure nothing else happens to me.

I saw what happened somewhere. Someone is pushing with a camera. It comes out different from normal. I saw him being pushed away. Gunman Anil was right next to me at that time. That’s what you turned into a neck grab.
How many cameramen appear in front of us. Then you don’t do that. This is coming straight back. It was at that point that he was seen being pushed away. This is natural. Isn’t that what gunman duty is for.” Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister said that those who want him dead are among the journalists. “There are those among you who have asked why he did not die in a car accident. If people rush in with that kind of feeling, it will naturally change. It doesn’t mean that all of you think I should be endangered. There are such people among you.” The Chief Minister added.
