The proposal was raised by Defense and Urban Development Minister Rajnath Singh on May 22 at a meeting attended by Navy and Air Force chiefs. Tejas, Principal Designer and now a Squadron in the Indian Air Force made the announcement at the meeting. Subsequently, the Ministry of Defense was issuing the necessary operational requirements.
The construction of the warship comes as the central government is preparing for structural changes in the defense sector under the Atmanabhar plan. The government aims to significantly reduce defense imports in the future.
The prototype of the new fighter plane is ready. They are designed to fly from INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant. The new fighter aircraft is inspired by the Tejas-N aircraft. The new aircraft will be designed to match the Boeing’s F / A-18E / F superhornet aircraft used by the US and French air forces.
