Reports are coming out that MV Nikesh Kumar may leave the media and work in Kannur. It is reported that a decision will be taken in the next CPM state committee meeting. In 2026, Nikesh Kumar may contest from any constituency in Kannur. Nikesh contested the 2016 assembly elections from Azhikode but failed. However, the CPM is of the opinion that Nikesh had to fail due to the decision of the candidate in a hurry. As part of shifting the platform to Kannur, Nikesh Kumar has moved from Ernakulam to his father MV Raghavan’s house in Barnassery. Nikesh announced yesterday that he is entering active politics.
At the same time, Nikesh Kumar started his media career in 1996 through Asianet News. Nikesh became the face of Malayalam news channels in 2003 with the launch of India Vision, Kerala’s first full-time news channel. He was the Executive Editor of India Vision. Nikesh’s unique style of news presentation gave him stardom in the visual media field. After India Vision, he started his own channel called Reporter TV. It was in 2011.
