While the tech world is abuzz with the next gen – 5G powered smartphones, Oppo seems to be in top gear. Oppo CEO Tony Chen informed that, the company had already started off research on 5G some three years ago. Developments from Oppo, which were done in co operation with Qualcomm, might soon launch first phase 5G smartphones by 2018 itself.
While the company is already undertaking pilot programme of ‘5G technology’, road ahead might not be smooth enough for Oppo. Earlier ZTE too had announced its plans of launching 5G enabled smartphones by the end of 2018.
