In the appalling Elanthoor Human Sacrifice case, the police are hunting for more evidence against the three accused. Though it has been alleged a case of cannibalism, the probe team has not found any crucial evidence to prove this allegation.
They key conspirator and prime accused Muhammad Shafi did not reveal about cannibalism. Reportedly, Shafi smiled when police asked whether he had eaten flesh of the killed women.
Police have been interrogating the three accused for three days. But the probe team has not yet gathered any crucial evidence to prove the charges. As Shafi is named as the key conspirator in the human sacrifice, the Special Investigation Team is trying to record his confession. But he didn’t reveal more about the conspiracy during interrogation.
The probe team is suspecting that he has links with sex rackets and human trafficking rackets. It is also alleged that Shafi, a native of Perumbavoor, was engaged in drug trafficking.
Police earlier arrested three people- Bhagaval Singh (68), a massage therapist and his wife Laila (59), along with prime accused Mohammed Shafi (52) after details of the gruesome murders came out on October 11. The three accused were remanded to judicial custody till October 26 by the Ernakulam District Sessions court.
