Finally, the tentatively titled ‘Thalapathy 66’ kicked off today with a pooja ceremony in Chennai with the cast and crew. Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, playing the lead roles, were also present on the occasion. The film is touted to be a commercial entertainer with a social message.
Rashmika Mandanna will share screen space with Thalapathy Vijay for the first time. She joined the cast of ‘Thalapathy 66’, on April 5 which was also her birthday.
The film was actually announced with Director Vamshi Paidipilly back in September 2021. It will be jointly produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations. Composer SS Thaman has been roped in to score the music for Thalapathy 66.
Meanwhile, Vijay is also gearing up for the release of Nelson Dilipkumar’s directorial Beast. Vijay, who appears as a spy in the film, shares the screen with actor Pooja Hegde. Beast will have a worldwide release on April 13.
Rashmika was recently seen in the pan-Indian movie Pushpa: The Rise, which co-starred actor Allu Arjun in the titular role.
