The Pan Indian film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin has made a theatrical collection of over 1000 crores. After a great response in theatres, the film released OTT and continues to stream on Netflix. The film started streaming on Netflix on 22nd August 2024. The film is currently in the top ten position with 2.6 million views. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ grabbed the first position behind films like ‘Untamed Royals’, ‘(Un)lucky Sisters’ and ‘Nice Girls’. Produced by C Ashwini Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies, Brahmanda is distributed in Kerala by Wayfarer Films. The film released theatrically on 27 June 2024.
On the day of release, ‘K.G.F. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ broke the opening records of ‘Chapter 2’ (Rs 159 crore), ‘Salar’ (Rs 158 crore) and ‘Leo’ (Rs 142.75 crore). In just 15 days, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has become the highest grossing Telugu film in Kerala after ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’. Telling the story of the three worlds of ‘Kashi’, ‘Complex’ and ‘Shambhala’, the film depicts a long journey from the epic events of the Mahabharata in 3101 AD to 2898 AD.
Prabhas played the role of ‘Bhairava’ in the film, which featured Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Ulaganayakan Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Vijay Devarakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, Shobhana and Pashupati. While Deepika Padukone played the heroine ‘Sumathi’, Amitabh Bachchan played ‘Ashwathama’, Kamal Haasan played ‘Yaskin’, Dulquer Salmaan played ‘Captain’ and Disha Patani played ‘Roxy’.
